Reaaaaalllyyyyy qwuickly, I'm the photographer here at BFROW. Here's a bit about myself to make you feel like we are all normal people like you...sorta.

Hello :)

My name is Ricardo Garcia and I am a Ventura-County Native. So definitely have that beach/surfer dude vibe aura circling around me...although I don't surf. My start as a creative began in high school when I took a photography class in my Junior year (waaay back to 2012). My teacher drove a love for film, photography, fashion, and storytelling to the point where I decided to make it a career choice. But it wasn't until my 2nd year in college I pursue photography and editing. Up 'til this day, this is what I want to do and what I love to do every day.

I graduated from CSU Northridge with a degree in Cinema and Television: TV Production. My first biggest project was my senior thesis, MEND. It was a Socio-Political observation documentary based on an organization motivated to help the homeless and low-income population in Pacoima. Our film made big waves; semi-finals in student Grammys, winning film festivals locally and internationally in storytelling, cinematography, and sound production. I was the sound producer and designer of the group and that's what I loved to do.

Since graduating from CSUN I've been active and a Video Editor for Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. Basically anything and everything in Social Media and Ads, (yes I'm sorry. I'm the one who makes the ads you LOVE to watch on IG and FB.) Even now I still freelance here and there for a media firm that specializes in Facebook ads. It's definitely my come up and it's where I seem to be heading in the future too.

My official title is photographer/videographer at BFROW (I take those crispy crisp pics for the team.) But I've already made IG edits, motion graphic intros, location scouting, emailing, and equipment shopping for the team...I'm definitely wearing many hats here just like everyone else in the team are. But not saying I don't love it...Because I do love it :)

BFROW is definitely different. They focus on helping and collaborating with each other, over trying to best one another. Although competition is what made Ford make their amazing American cars in the 60s (reference Ford v Ferrari film), collaboration is what builds us stronger...together. That's what I love about BFROW.

Random fact

Here are a few random facts about me too :)

  1. I was born before the internet got super big, so I can clearly remember a time where not having internet wasn't a big deal. Now it is and if I don't have it I freak out.
  2. I'm sort of a runner; I ran cross country and track in high school and in college. My favorite memories where times when I was running with my teammates and competing for CSU Northridge.
  3. I love listening and playing music; my dad taught me how to play guitar when I was about 14 and right now I own 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic, and a nylon string guitar.
  4. I broke my arm in the 2nd-grade playing tag; and the guy that had 'tagged' me apologized until we were about 15 in high school.
